Bed room decoration ideas

A Guide to decorate your room in life style
Decorating is one way to show your personality and to make a space that really feels like you and that you can share with your friends when they come to visit. While not all of us can just buy a whole new bedroom, or call up Colin and Justin to do the work for us, here are some ideas for decorating your home at minimum cost.
Color
You don't have to be Picasso to spruce up your space. Painting your walls is a great way to change the look of a room.White or light neutral colored walls are often a really good idea if you change your mind quite a bit and you can bring color into your room other ways via bed covers, curtains and furniture.

Some paints, like Deluxe, have websites where you can view all the colors of paint and even decorate a virtual room. They may send you samples of the colors as well so that you can see what they look like in your room.
Most paint can be bought in sample sizes so you can test the colors out on part of your wall  a good idea if you’re planning to paint the room a very bright or very dark color!

Posters

Posters are a great, cheap way to decorate but if you want to make them look really smart, think about getting a frame for them. You can get large glass frames for pretty cheap and they'll, protect them and make them look more professional. The great thing about these frames, too, is that you can just change the poster if you get sick of it.

You can also get poster hangers, which just fit across the top of your poster to hold it straight and keep the edges from curling in.

Photos

Having a whole wall of photos of your friends and family can really make your room feel more personal. Sometimes though, all the tape, blu-tac and pins can leave the wall looking pretty rubbish. A great way around this is to get a piece of cork-board at your local hardware store. It’s cheap and light and you can just fix it on your wall to make one giant notice board for storing your important papers, cards, and photos.

You can get loads of really cool photo frames as well, or you can make a mobile and hang your photos from it. Think about enlarging some of your favourites, or getting them switched to black and white to make them look really sharp.

Lighting
You’d be amazed what a difference lighting can make to the feel of a room! If you’re not allowed to change your lights, ask about getting a couple of lamps to change the atmosphere

You can get colored lightbulbs to make your room feel more mellow or just different. A string of fairy lights strung around the wall can be a real feature of your room too.Candles are also great for creating a more homey feel - just remember to always put them out after you're done.
Plants
Living in the city can be convenient, however, the fast-paced lifestyle also brings along physical and mental pressure. A great way to make you feel better at home is by adding some greens. Plants will make your home feel fresher and create an ambiance that allows you to relax after a long day of work. You can either place some plants in a basket or hang them from your wall. There are many ways in which you can use plants to decorate your home.

Decorative wall paintings
If you think your walls are too plain and would like to add some decoration to them, decorative wall paintings are a great way to go. There are many highly affordable paintings in different styles and shapes available. Now it won’t be difficult to find a wall painting that will match your interior decor. Simply pick the paintings of your liking, match them up with each other, and you’ll be ready to go. After hanging some paintings onto your blank wall your home will instantly look more livable. Another option is to add a splash of color with a water wall.

Don't be afraid to use color
According to lifestyle  "A good way to give your room a fun splash of color without being too overwhelming it is to color block the wall by painting just the lower half of it. We chose a happy banana yellow and left the top half white to keep it bright and simple."

Make Rest a Priority
Your bedroom should be your retreat, a sanctuary for peaceful reading, writing, studying, as much as a resting place. Set fresh flowers on your nightstand to boost your mood, as pictured here.

Add Warmth With Neutrals
That idea works just as well with neutrals. Here, the neutral duvet and natural-lit room creates a cozy atmosphere.

Work the Walls
Nightstands and adjustable lamps affixed to walls smartly save space in a small room.

Coloring

Coloring Art
Colored pencil art is rapidly experiencing a whole new level of appreciation in the art world. I'm here to show you how fresh and innovative color pencil art can be!Just take a look at some of my colored pencil drawings along the right side of this page to get an idea of the amazing versatility of this fun art medium!

Colored Pencil as Professional Art Medium

While colored pencils were once considered to be primarily for kids, throughout the years they have been steadily gaining respect amongst artists, galleries, and collectors. Artists are exploring the creative potential of this art-making medium, while art collectors and enthusiasts are marveling at their output!

Chances are, you probably used colored pencils when you were a kid, so you already have some degree of familiarity with them. But there is a big difference between artist grade colored pencils and the colored pencils usually used by children. Professional artist-quality colored pencils contain a higher degree of wax and pigment than the colored pencils used by children. These pencils allow for a really rich, deep and luminescent color. Finished drawings can be so smooth and pigmented that they resemble paintings!

Colored Pencils for Fine Artists

Artist-quality colored pencils are light-resistant or light fast. They can be sharpened to a fine point to allow for exquisite detail. My favorite brand of colored pencils.

Pharmacologist come in a range of 132 colors... more than enough to draw just about anything! But this is where it gets even better - the colors can be easily blended together in endless combinations to create even more shades, tints and hues.

You can basically draw anything with colored pencils that you would be able to depict with paint. Colored pencil art can easily rival paintings in luminosity and depth of color!

Here’s you need to get some things

The Colored Pencil:

First of all we select the best pencil color for the coloring, which work smooth on the paper. Because if we select the best pencil color then we create best painting

The paper
The right paper is very important, especially if you work in as many layers as I do.
You can build 20 layers, or even more, which is very hard on your paper and can cause the surface to tear or buckle.
I like Stonehenge fine art paper because it is 100% cotton and acid-free.
The paper is buffered with calcium carbonate to help protect artwork from contaminated environments.

Stonehenge is also sold in pads that come in a variety of sizes, but also comes in full 22 x 30 sheets so you can work large, (which is not easy in a time-consuming medium such as colored pencil) or cut it into any size you d like.

I recently found out that they make a few colored pads as well.
Depending on your subject, colored paper may be very helpful.
It can give you a nice base color to start with, saving you lots of time and work!

I have also worked directly on mat board.
This is a good strong surface that is capable of taking erasure without going straight through your paper.
Mat board comes in a wide array of colors and textures, but I most prefer a smooth surface to work on.

Erasers
I prefer using kneeded erasers. Kneeded erasers are a gummy clay-like substance.Press the eraser on the area to be removed and lift it, which brings the color with it.Moving the eraser around like you would a regular eraser will just leave a smear.

To clean this eraser, just pull and knead it like you would with a piece of dough.Colored pencil is not easy to remove completely but it can be done, except under certain circumstances.

Colors such as certain shades of reds and blues seem to penetrate the paper and are harder to remove and lift the pencil wax rather than erasing.

Electric or battery powered erasers are good; however, you have to be careful not to hold it in one place too long. This will go right through lightweight paper. It s best used on board or a heavier paper.

Pencil Sharpener
Electrical or battery-operated are best.
Get one that is sharp and gives the pencil a nice clean, smooth shaving. I like a sharp point because it allows me to get into the grain of the paper, but try different point sharpness and see what works best for you.Colored pencils, a graphite pencil, paper/ board, eraser and sharpener That’s all you need!

Advantages of Working with Colored Pencils
Colored pencils have many advantages. For one thing, they are extremely lightweight and portable. They don't require any intensive set-up - you can just take them wherever you go, open your sketchbook or drawing pad. An art making session with colored pencils is just as quick and easy to clean up as it is to set up. This makes colored pencils very non-messy compared to other art mediums.
